Submissions Instructions |
Short JEMS GuideEach manuscript must be submitted electronically, as a PDF file, via the JEMS submission site. Uploading of additional files will be available for an optional compressed zip archive with the supplementary material. Every co-author of a manuscript must be registered as a user of JEMS before the manuscript is submitted via the above URL. The material can be replaced at any time before the track deadline. To start a new submission process, upon logging on at JEMS submission site, select the icon “submit paper” for the track. Fill in the paper registration information requested in that page (don’t forget to choose a category for your paper at the bottom of the page) and then click on the “submit” icon, in order to complete your paper’s registration. After doing so, you will view a page called “Registering Paper”. The first line after the title of this page should say “Paper created”, where is a (five-digit) number assigned by JEMS to your manuscript. Before you upload your manuscript, include this five-digit number in the place where you would normally put the author names (for instance, by including the command \author{Paper id: Manuscript number} in your LaTeX source file). After you have generated the final PDF file containing the manuscript number (which should be renamed as .pdf), you can upload it immediately by following the “upload” link available on the page “Registering Paper”, or log out of the JEMS site and return later to upload your paper. If you choose the latter option, an “Upload” icon for each registered manuscript will be accessible from your SIBGRAPI 2012 home page within JEMS. In any case, please upload the PDF file with your manuscript first and then, if desired, return to the manuscript upload page (either using your browser’s “Back” button or through your SIBGRAPI 2012 JEMS home) and upload the ZIP file with the supplementary material. You should receive an e-mail confirmation every time you perform an upload.IEEE LaTeX RecommendationsThe SIBGRAPI IEEE LaTeX style is available here. Please follow the included instructions and the IEEE formatting guidelines, avoiding any change to the format (in particular avoiding \vspace command, or creating subsections or paragraph title with any command different from \subsection[*] or \paragraph[*]). The bibliography should be formatted with a 9pt font. Please do not change the font size, even if it helps to comply with the page limit! The paper length should not exceed 8 pages. The illustrations of the paper should be generated either truly vectorial or rasterized with at least 300dpi. The final pdf must be generated according to the IEEE requirements and submitted to three services: the IEEE PDF express, following the IEEE instructions, through the JEMS system, and to the SIBGRAPI’s library. Anonymity RequirementsThe review process of most submissions will be double blind. Authors must thus prepare their manuscripts without including any indication of their identities or institutional affiliations. Authors’ identities will be tracked only by the JEMS submission system, and visible only by the track chairs. The program committee members and referees who review the paper will not know the identity of the authors. To ensure anonymity of authorship, authors must prepare their manuscript as follows:
